SpeakMoney Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before installing, accessing, or using the SpeakMoney mobile application (Application ID: com.manarahlab.speak_money), developed by ManarahLab.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using SpeakMoney from the Google Play Store or any authorized distribution channel, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not install or use the application.
2. Personal Record-Keeping & Financial Disclaimer
- Not Financial or Legal Advice: SpeakMoney is an automated personal finance tracking and budgeting utility intended solely for informational and personal record-keeping purposes. SpeakMoney and ManarahLab do not provide certified financial planning, investment advice, banking services, or tax accounting.
- Verification of Extracted Data: Natural language voice processing (via built-in Native STT or external AI providers) is an automated recognition process. While SpeakMoney provides high entity extraction accuracy, factors such as ambient noise, accents, or phrasing can influence transcription results. You are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming extracted amounts, categories, and merchants before saving entries.
3. Lending & Borrowing Ledger Disclaimer
- The Lending & Borrowing ledger feature is provided as a personal tracking tool to help you remember interpersonal loans, debts, and repayments with friends, family, or associates.
- Not a Banking or Escrow Service: SpeakMoney does not hold funds, process monetary transfers, disburse loans, act as an escrow agent, or provide debt collection services.
- ManarahLab is not responsible for any disputes, unpaid debts, or financial disagreements between you and any third party.
4. “Bring Your Own Key” (BYOK) & Third-Party Providers
- If you choose to enable external AI cloud engines (such as Google Gemini, OpenAI Whisper, or Deepgram), you do so under the “Bring Your Own Key” architecture.
- You are solely responsible for complying with the respective terms of service, acceptable use policies, and privacy policies of those third-party providers.
- You remain solely responsible for any fees, quotas, or rate limits associated with your personal API keys.
5. Local-First Architecture & Data Backup Responsibility
- Because SpeakMoney operates on a local-first, zero-knowledge architecture, your financial records reside strictly on your physical device.
- No Central Backups: ManarahLab does not maintain copies of your database and cannot recover your data if your device is lost, stolen, damaged, or wiped.
- Backup Tools: You are strongly encouraged to utilize the built-in Google Drive cloud backup feature or periodically export your transactions to CSV or Excel (
.xlsx) to safeguard your records.
6. Permitted Use & Software License
- ManarahLab grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use SpeakMoney on compatible Android devices in accordance with these Terms.
- You may not decompile, reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute unauthorized copies of the application without prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall ManarahLab, its developers, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including loss of profits, loss of data, device failure, or inaccurate financial calculations—arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use SpeakMoney.
8. Updates & Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect enhancements to SpeakMoney or evolving regulatory requirements. The updated date at the top of this document will indicate the effective date. Continued use of the application following any modifications signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.
